(I haven’t been here in a long time. I don’t tend to read Medium articles and I don’t really know why I haven’t canceled my membership. I was about to post the following on my own website, but no one goes there, or my Facebook Account, but I have already posted another article there on a similar subject so I decided to drop this one here.)
There are several glaring mistakes that have been made in the vaccine roll-out. I wonder if you’re thinking of the same ones I am. Let’s see:
I DON’T WANT TO RAIN ON YOUR PARADE BUT I’VE GOT GEORGIA ON MY MIND
This isn’t over yet…and it won’t be over until the fate of the two Senate seats from Georgia are decided when Georgians go back to the polls on January 5, 2021.
Joe Biden’s very slender margin of victory in Georgia should not encourage us to expect these races to go in our favor.
Incumbent Senator David Perdue got 49.8% of the vote against Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff’s 47.8% of the vote. Libertarian candidate Shane Hazel raked in the remaining 2.3% of the vote.
The CDC is now claiming that there may be ten times as many people who have been infected with COVID-19 as the official estimates indicate. (From NBC News via AOL)
This is the CDC dominated by the Trump administration and therefore everything they report must be scrutinized carefully.
This is also the same CDC that has been wrong several times during the epidemic, another cause for concern.
If there are ten times as many people who have been infected, then the mortality rate for this disease is TEN TIMES LESS than the current estimate.
There is also a question…
Questioning the Presidential Authority to Dismiss Congressional Appointments
Presidents of the United States have the authority to nominate ambassadors, counsels, and federal judges, among others, subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. The president of the United States does NOT have the authority to fire anyone who requires the advice and consent of the Senate because the Constitution does not give him that authority, which raises the interesting question of who does have the authority to fire federal judges, U.S. …
It is the height of absurdity to suggest that we do away with our police forces. There isn’t a country or a major city in the world that doesn’t have a police force. Even the Vatican City has a police force.
Like it or not, there are violent criminals in the world — murderers, rapists, kidnappers, child molesters, home invaders — and a whole host of less violent offenders who must be apprehended, investigated, and charged with the crimes they have committed. We need well-trained law enforcement officers and detectives to accomplish those objectives.
However, what we do NOT need…
There are a number of potential extinction-level events that scientists worry about. There’s nuclear war, of course, and meteors, climate change…and pandemics.
The Pandemic Extinction Level Event just because a lot more feasible because it could be happening around us as you read these words.
First, the good news. We have no idea how many people have already been exposed to COVID-19, but the number is probably already in the millions. Since we haven’t been testing right along, we have no idea of what the actual infection and fatality rates are from this disease. …
A TREATISE ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CORONAVIRUS AND THE 2020 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARIES
There some people who think there are some people who know what going on. There are other people who think they know some people who know what’s going on. And then there are the people who think THEY are the people who know what’s going on and, even worse, that they also know what’s going to happen.
These people are optimists. Optimists are delusional and should be avoided whenever possible.
And then there are people who know they don’t know what is going on and don’t believe…
In a recent New York Times opinion piece, Times staffer Christopher Caldwell attempts to set the record straight about claims that Michael Bloomberg blamed the 2007 real estate meltdown on Congressional legislation that pressured banks “to make loans to everyone” but that’s not the whole story.
Michael Bloomberg was quite correct when he made that assertion in a 2008 interview, but he never specifically said that the intent was to broaden home ownership. He didn’t say that because Bloomberg probably knows better.
Caldwell, however, incorrectly claims that the real estate meltdown that triggered the Great Recession of 2008 was “result…
Have you ever noticed how software companies refer to us as “users” rather than “customers” as if, somehow, their responsibilities to us, as consumers, are mitigated by referring to us as “users”?
Well, it goes deeper than that.
Microsoft was in trouble for awhile. They were being pressed hard by Google in the competition for market share in cloud services market and were losing customers to Google Docs and Open Office, also known as Libre to Linux users.
Their biggest problem, however, was the hundreds of millions of users who simply refused to upgrade to Windows 10.
There were several…
We are living in the end times, and Donald Trump has been cast in the role of The Savior, but there was a misprint in the program.
Donald Trump is the anti-Christ.
Donald Trump is the false messiah to whom millions will flock, seeking salvation, only to get a lethal dose of his hate disguised as love.
The harbingers are all in place, looming over us. The horses’ hooves you hear late at night? Those are the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, getting ready for their final ride.
Trump is a vile deceiver who deceives everyone in the search for…
