If you were to tell me that we are running out of sand, I would have to call you a fucking idiot. Sand is composed of either silicon dioxide (made mostly from pulverized granite) or calcium carbonate (made mostly from pulverized seashells and other ocean debris) which are two of the most plentiful compounds on this planet, and both forms of sand can be easily manufactured.

There’s also the fact that there are enormous deserts that are mostly sand that cover one-third of the land mass of this planet, and there are also enormous deposits of sand under the oceans. Some of that sand is not usable for construction. There was a pedestrian bridge collapse not long ago that was traced to the used of inferior non-construction grade sand.

And before you respond, manufactured sand can be manufactured to precisely the same specifications as high-quality construction sand, with the same granular structure. As a matter of fact, you yourself cited at least one example of a project designed to produce artificial construction grade (it isn’t called residential by the way) sand, and there are other substitutes in the pipeline.

So, then, by your own admission and from the context of your article, you stand convicted by your own words of using a sensational headline to generate clicks. Needless to say, you’re not getting any claps from me.
