You hit the nail on the head once again, but let’s scratch a little deeper. There’s another school of thought that social media is responsible for the exacerbation of every “ism” in the “ism” list, despite the fact that many “isms” are mutually exclusive ones.

My problem with social media is that they are making huge fortunes from our compulsion to communicate via social media. I would like to start a profit sharing social media site. As a matter of fact, I did just that…but it’s very lonely there. Even the ads that are running on my sites are lonely.

So everyone complains about social media, but no one really wants to do very much to improve the situation if, indeed, the situation requires improving.

I didn’t bother to look at the author’s name when I started reading this. I can now recognize your prose style after the first two sentences.
